Parkinson started at the end of 1996 with original lineup Jimbo(vocal), Atan(guitar), Yusman(bass) and Yusri(drums). Born in Johor Bahru, which located at Southern Malaysia. We got a couple of songs and its more to raw punks. At that time our line up wasn't constant and since that we dont have any material, except poor raw jamming recorded with Walkman. Sadly early 1997 Yusri left to further his study and Syam replaced him as a new drummer. We keep on going with new drummer and try to do different beat.

In the mid 1997, Prop appears all the sudden to join Parkinson. His ex-band called Disorder Track based at Terengganu and already dead. We agreed to accept Prop as a 2nd Guitar. And grateful to list, our new line-up were Jimbo(vocal), Atan(1st Guitar), Prop(2nd Guitar), Yusman(bass) and Syam(Drums). Two guitars really kick in the ass. Jimbo and Atan were still studying; we always try to jam more than we could. Prop just finished his advanced study while Yusman worked in Singapore. But all these were not the matters, we don’t give a damn. We did it not because of clothes we wear. We did for what we think is right. We love the punk/hc scenes.

With new lineup and "semangat yang berkobar-kobar", Parkinson starts seriously with new songs. This time we more into punk/crust with political ideas!. But before our 1st EP, Syam left Parkinson also to further his study. He only played with Parkinson at our very first gig in hometown. And Atan has been insisted to replaced Syam position as a new drummer. And the new lineup were Jimbo(vocal), Prop(guitar), Yusman(bass) and Atan (drummer).

On April 1998 we did our first recording at JBS Studio JB. At that time its hard to get recording studio and sure its expensive rate. No choice! This 7 new songs plus one sweet poem (by Yani) were our first EP titled "Parkinson - About a War" . It was released under Broken Noise Records, own by Jimbo. But it seems like own release and its totally DIY as fuck. But we really love to done that. Some of these songs were pulled out for compilations.

Parkinson History

We came back for 2nd EP "Parkinson - Mencari Keamanan Sebenar" on the February 1999. We do a split Cassette/3" MCD with Aghast (local band). This time Parkinson more fast, we crust/grind with 9 new songs. This EP was co-released under Broken Noise Records and All System Fail Records (Japan [Profane Existence Far East -Izumi Kubo]).

In Year 1999 really busy in the ass. In the mid of 1999 we made our 3rd release titled "Parkinson - Peace Now!". The title of this 3 way split is "Forgotten Victims". This release available on CD/Cassette, which split, out with Existench (Can) and irritate (Fin). We put out 7 new songs and its also under Broken Noise Records. Its come with 7"x7" booklet and its one of the coolest split release with great fakin bands. You guys are great.

Parkinson should satisfy with two releases in year 1999, plus killing gigs of the year with Sporean band in 'Resist All Operation Gig' at Wadihana JB. Many band perform, such as Demisor. Grinkor tua.

After a short while, Prop left Parkinson. He left in peace to perform with his new band, but it was totally unexpected. At the end of 1999 Parkinson made a few change for lineup. Its 3 piece!. Yusman have no choice but except to replace Prop position as a Guitarist. So Parkinson current lineup were Jimbo (vocal), Atan(Drums) and Yusman(Guitar). These 3-piece lineups were long live until now.

We back again with 4th release. Recording on July 2000 at Batu giling Studio. This Ep title “Parkinson - Peace Now or Die” contains 7 new songs. Its available only on cassette format under Broken Noise Records (fuck! BN rec again! lol), include A2 poster. But 80% of this release was in Malay lyrics. Jimbo wrote them. Actually most of Parkinson lyrics wrote by Jimbo.

At the end of 2001, we do a split Ep tape with Indonesian grindcore Extreme Decay. Parkinson blast with 7 new songs while Extreme Decay put out 9 songs. This release was a long delay due to our recording problem, but grateful it happens at last. We did it live recording with 4 tracks recorder, raw as fuck. In this recording still the same lineup. One of these songs was re-recorded for Johor Hardcore compilations. Pre-packet including nice 7" cover and damn its under Broken Noise Records.

On April 2002, Parkinson released a new demo titled "Parkinson - Tolak Segala Kekerasan Demo 2002". Its own release, 7 new songs were packed in this release. This limited tape was pro-release and some profit from this tape will benefit to Community Coalition collective, Terengganu Malaysia. On 2002 we did couple gigs included one of the killing gigs of the year, ABC Partisan gig in Malaysia! Co-operated with Masaki Tribal War Asia, Jimbo organized this allcrustpunk gigs. A band from Japan Social Crime was brought here to make some noise.

In year 2002, Hardcore Fest 2002 were organized at Johor Bahru. Many bands performed plus one foreign band called At Coast 46 from Japan. Guess what? during their tour, we did a side project band called Unko. The line-ups were Jimbo-voc, Satoshi-Guitar, Atan-drums and Masumi-Bass. Grind grind!

After 6 years been together, Parkinson still the same shit. No changes on line-up. But due to more gigs coming behind us, we decided to adopt Apis as a bassist secessionist. Apis was a member of Depress a local crust/punk disordered. So Apis helped us to play in gigs, also in new recordings for upcoming release. Sure it is hard for him but after a lot of practicing, he did well and wallanne! kocok abis!

And year 2003 Parkinson release the 1st single called "Perubahan". Its CDR single. One song with full of emotion vocal and killing backup shouters! The idea from Jimbo who want a change! Even in this single we more to hartkor lompat /old school hc. In this recording, Atan on Guitar/Bass, Jimbo on Vocal and Apis on Drums. Perubahan means Changing! in Malay language.

We came back with new release which split 7" release with Tekken from France. Parkinson put in 6 new tacks while Tekken 9 tracks. We did the recording on January 2003 but release on Disember 2003 by 213 Records. In this release the lineup were Jimbo-Voc, Atan-Drums, Farouk-Guitar/Bass and Apis-Bass/Guitar. We "pinjam" these two guys for recording on this release due to our Gitarist Yusman got some personal problem. Broken Noise Records pressing on Cassette format for this split and the title on Parkinson's side called "Permainan Kamu Adalah Kecelakaan".

...to be continue
